privacy policy
The short version
- Zap never sees which apps you use or what you browse.
- Everything the app needs stays on your phone.
- There are no accounts. We don't collect app usage data, and we never sell your data.
- When you buy a Zapper, Stripe handles your payment. We use your name, email, and shipping address only to get your order to you and, if you opt in, to send occasional marketing emails. We never sell your information or share it with advertising platforms.
This policy explains how EnoOne LLC ("we", "us") handles information in the Zap iPhone app ("the app") and on zapyourphone.com ("the website"). We've tried to write it in plain language. If anything is unclear, email us at support@zapyourphone.com.
The Zap app
How blocking works
Zap uses Apple's Screen Time APIs to block the apps you choose. When you pick apps to block, iOS hands Zap private tokens that stand in for those apps. Zap can use these tokens to block and unblock apps, but it can't see the names of the apps you picked, which apps you use, how long you use them, or what you browse. Apple designed Screen Time this way to protect your privacy.
What stays on your phone
The following is stored only on your phone and is never sent to us:
- Your app selections and block settings
- The pairing between your phone and your Zapper
- Your session history: when sessions start, end, and take breaks
- Your free-session and emergency-unblock counts
What we don't collect
- We don't require an account, so we don't have your name, email, or password from the app.
- We don't collect which apps you use, your screen time, or your browsing.
- We don't sell your data, and we don't share it for advertising.
Your Zapper
Each Zapper holds a unique code. When you tap your Zapper, your phone reads that code so the app can check it matches the Zapper you paired. That check happens on your phone. If you tap a Zapper with the app not installed, your phone may open zapyourphone.com/tap/ with that code in the address, which is handled like any other website visit (see below).
Apple
You download Zap from the App Store, which is run by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy. If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may give us anonymous, aggregated crash and performance statistics. You can turn this off in Settings at any time.
Store purchases
This section covers buying a Zapper on zapyourphone.com. It doesn't change anything above: the Zap app still collects no data.
Payment
When you buy a Zapper, your payment is handled by Stripe. You enter your card details on Stripe's secure checkout page, and Stripe processes your payment under its own privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy). We never see or store your full card number.
What we receive and why
To fulfill your order, we receive your name, email address, and shipping address. We use them only to:
- Ship your order
- Send you order and shipping updates
- Handle support or refund requests
- Send occasional marketing emails, if you opted in at checkout
Emails we send
We'll email you about your order, including shipping updates. If you opt in at checkout, we may also send occasional marketing emails, and each one includes a link to unsubscribe.
How long we keep it
We keep order information only as long as we need it for the purposes above and to meet tax and legal obligations.
Shipping labels
We create shipping labels through a shipping service, which receives your shipping address so it can deliver your Zapper.
What we don't do
We don't sell your information or share it with advertising platforms.
Asking about or deleting your information
You can email us at support@zapyourphone.com to ask what information we have about you, or to ask us to correct or delete it. We'll delete it, except for records we need to keep for tax or legal reasons.
The website
Visiting the website
The website has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising trackers, and no cookies of our own. It's hosted by Netlify, which, like any web host, processes basic technical information such as your IP address and browser type in order to deliver the site and keep it secure.
If you email us
If you email us, we receive your email address and your message. We use them only to reply to you.
Your choices
- You can delete the app at any time, which removes your settings and session history from your phone. A small record of how many free sessions you've used stays in your phone's secure storage so free sessions can't be reset by reinstalling; it contains no personal information and never leaves your phone.
- For order information, see Asking about or deleting your information above.
Children and teens
The Zap app doesn't collect personal information from anyone, of any age, so it's safe for kids and teens to use. Purchases on zapyourphone.com should be made by an adult or with a parent's permission. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
